HITOYANE
Located along National Route 2 in Okayama, this project combines a coworking space with a showroom designed to serve as a hub for local community interaction.
Commissioned by UEDA BANKINTEN (Sheet Metal Workshop), a regional company dedicated to both preserving and innovating Japan’s proud sheet metal craftsmanship, the project brings together a cluster of “small huts” to form an experiential showroom. These are seamlessly integrated with a coworking space that is open and accessible to the surrounding community.
The façade of the building is also conceived as a composition of “huts”, creating a new symbolic presence for “Roadside architecture” in the 21st century.
