Façade and Interior design for Christian Dior Boutique in Azabudai Hills, Tokyo.
Inspired by the delicate and beautiful appearance of Dior’s haute couture dress, façade is designed with ultra-fine threads of myriad carbon fiber.
Multiple layers of carbon fiber are placed into the limited depth of the façade to create a visual experience of movement. Swaying and moving with the wind and sparkling with countless raindrops on rainy days, which was the challenge for a design that responds to the nature and environment.
The interior design responds to the exquisite craftmanship of Christian Dior, with artisanal metalwork on the wall panels and furniture, handmade Japanese paper, and overflowing petals created using Nishijin brocade technique.
