As part of the LEXUS NEW TAKUMI PROJECT, a pavilion made from newspaper was constructed at the former printing plant of the Kyoto Shimbun newspaper company.
Newspaper was rolled into tubes and woven together to form the entire structure.
By creating a Catenary cross-section and curved planes, a lightweight, self-supporting pavilion made solely from newspaper was achieved.
