As part of the LEXUS NEW TAKUMI PROJECT, we designed an exhibition at the former printing plant of the Kyoto Shimbun newspaper company to showcase the artistry of Japan’s Master craftsmen, Takumi, to the world.
Works by master craftsmen gathered from across the nation were displayed along a 40-meter-long linear, luminous display platform.
Arranged according to the layout of Japan’s 47 prefectures, from Okinawa to Hokkaido, visitors could experience regional identities while walking along the display.
In one corner of the venue a pavilion made from newspaper named AMI-AMI, was constructed.
