ExhibitionMatsuya Ginza Store 100th Anniversary Commemorative Exhibition “Tsu-tsu-mu: Design Typology for Care and Inclusion” 2025.09.26 – 2025.10.13
This exhibition collects forms of “Tsu-tsu-mu” (wrapping) found in nature, daily life, cities, and the environment. Through examples such as eggs, rice balls, packaging, chairs, and museums, it reexamines design from the perspective of “Tsu-tsu-mu = caring.” At the venue, seven themes of “Tsu-tsu-mu” will be presented, featuring approximately 100 works and case studies.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Kengo Kuma shares his insights in the recorded interview “The Study of Tsu-tsu-mu by Creators,” discussing the meaning of “Tsu-tsu-mu” in design and its relationship to daily life, urban space, and the environment.
